this | temporal | disr|uption explores the senses of being out of time: how do you convey the discontinuity of time—the feeling that you’re jumping through portals in time? How do you communicate an existentially impossible predicament where time does not flow, but fractures into pieces? This piece smashes a sequence of starkly disparate episodes against each other, full of highly contrasting texture, physicality, and orchestration. On micro and macro levels, it distorts time in a manner that mirrors the feeling of isolation and whiplash that comes with existing in a spatial conundrum that is both unfamiliar yet intimate.
